Infant Language Acquisition
When a baby is born, the assumption is that the child will learn his parents' language. But parents do not give babies vocabulary lists to memorize, nor do they expect the child to speak right away. A newborn does not study his parents' language academically, but rather becomes a growing participant in his parents' language community as he matures.
