We All Learned a First Language
Learning my first language seemed effortless, but was it? I still learn new vocabulary on a regular basis and can remember more occasions than I can count in which I have made Fruedian-slips, or malapropisms. Yet, I identify with my first language and feel completely confident in my ability to use it to communicate. How did such a balance come about?
